The folks at Topaz have been telling us for awhile that a remake version of ReMask was under development and would arrive soon, even integrate with Studio. So all that being said, I wouldn't have paid $500 for it, even if DeNoise is better (I am not saying it is), I would make do with Define, as I am sure it works well as well. ReMasks work area In the top left hand corner there is a preview navigator. ReMask harnesses the latest in image extraction technology to make masking intuitive and. I don't know if Nik has a masking tool like ReMask or not, I use it pretty much any time I am going to mask something, it's so simple to use and I would never be able to accomplish the same job in PS alone. Topaz ReMask 5 Review Feature Overview When you load an image in ReMask it looks like this. Topaz ReMask is the fastest way to mask and extract your images. Adjust is also a great tool and ReMask is just fantastic. That being said, I only paid about 150$-170$ for it (suite of 10 plugins) about 3 years ago at Joe McNally's one light two light seminar.ĭeNoise is a great tool, and I had bought that first after checking out reviews online (the guy selling at the seminar gave me a discount off the sales price since I already had this one). I also get a reasonable amount of usage from Simplify for touching up the skin. Since I already own Topaz Remask I can get 20 off Mask AI instead of future upgrades of Remask which Topaz promised when I bought Remask. Mask AI seems to be a replacement for Topaz Remask which apparently is a dead end product. Therefore, it is a perfect one-stop solution for all your images that need just a tiny boost before you can send them to be printed. I would add that a significant advantage of a 'mid-grey backdrop' is that you can use the mid-grey to blend with your replacement background (in softlight or overlay) and retain the natural 'shadows' and 'highlights' created on your background by the lighting set up. Gray is a combination of every color so that gives you the best results in combining a differently colored BG in photoshop. These give you black or white color spills which are hard to remove. If you want to replace a background, I would even not advise to take a white or black BG. In photo programs, color spills are hard to remove, you'll need some special software.
